The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has clarified the status of the Rs75 commemorative currency notes, confirming that both blue and green variants can be used for trading. The SBP made this announcement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “both blue and green color banknotes of Rs75 are legal tender & can be used as a medium of exchange in all transactions across Pakistan.”
The central bank initially issued the green-colored Rs75 commemorative note to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence. Subsequently, another Rs75 tender in blue was introduced to commemorate the anniversary of the bank’s creation. Notably, both notes have distinct designs.
