Caretaker PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar Attends OIC Emergency Meeting in Saudi Arabia

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has embarked on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia to participate in the Organisation of the Islamic Conference’s (OIC) emergency meeting addressing the situation in Gaza. Welcoming PM Kakar at King Khalid International Airport was Deputy Governor Riyadh Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz. Also present were Pakistani Ambassador Ahmed Farooq and diplomatic representatives from both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

During a meeting in Islamabad with Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, PM Kakar underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections. He provided assurance to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of comprehensive support, including the allocation of necessary resources for the upcoming general elections.

In response to Chief Election Commissioner Raja’s briefing on the ECP’s preparations, PM Kakar pledged wholehearted support from the caretaker government. Raja extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to personally review the arrangements at the ECP office. The Chief Election Commissioner highlighted the completion of lists of polling stations and staff, emphasizing the imminent dispatch of updated electoral lists to all districts. In turn, PM Kakar affirmed the caretaker government’s commitment to providing the essential funds and security arrangements to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
